ACRYLIC (PMMA)

Acrylic is best known for its exceptional transparency, often used as a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass. Its optical clarity, durability, and ease of fabrication make it ideal for signage, glazing, displays, and protective barriers across various industries.

Our extensive stock includes clear, opal and white acrylic sheet, rod and tube. We also supply coloured, tinted, textured, mirrored, non-glare and UV-resistant options widening its appeal for diverse applications.

Trusted brands synonymous with high-quality acrylic include ALTUGLAS, OROGLAS PLEXIGLAS®, and PERSPEX®, all widely recognised in the market for their reliability and performance. SPL supplies these leading brands according to customer preference, ensuring the best price and fit for your specific project needs.

With extensive stock and cut-to-size services, we provide precision acrylic solutions available in single sheets or bulk orders to suit various applications and industries.

Choose SPL for top-quality acrylics at competitive prices, backed by exceptional customer support every step of the way.

Not all acrylic is the same.

Unmodified acrylic can be more brittle under sudden impact and may scratch more easily than glass, but modern modified versions offer improved durability and surface hardness, ideal for everyday wear and tear.

At SPL, we supply both cast and extruded acrylic, each with its own strengths depending on your project’s needs. Read on to find out which type is right for you.

Cast Acrylic or Extruded Acrylic?

CAST ACRYLIC

Cast acrylic has a higher molecular weight making it stronger and more rigid and a better alternative for machining, shaping, and laser cutting. It offers exceptional transparency with better resistance to scratching and chemicals. It’s ideal for high-quality, visually critical or structural applications.

Choose cast acrylic sheets when crafting high-end signage, museum cases, boat windows, medical enclosures, or architectural panels requiring structural support, durability and optical clarity. With improved thermal stability, this material excels in environments prone to temperature fluctuations, such as outdoor installations and sports facilities.

Popular options:  Opal Cast Acrylic / White Cast Acrylic / Tinted Coloured Cast Acrylic / Black Cast Acrylic / Silver Acrylic Mirror.

EXTRUDED ACRYLIC

On the other hand, extruded acrylic is more affordable, easier to thermoform, and provides consistent thickness across sheets, making it well-suited for general-purpose use and volume production.

Choose extruded acrylic sheets for efficient fabrication of point-of-sale displays, signage, lighting panels, protective screens, dispensers, and other everyday products where consistency and affordability are key. Its ease of machining and forming makes it a go-to material for fast-turnaround commercial or industrial projects.

Popular options: Clear Extruded Acrylic / Opal Extruded Acrylic / White Extruded Acrylic / Gloss Coloured Acrylic / Satin Acrylic.

ACRYLIC ROD AND ACRYLIC TUBE

ACRYLIC ROD

Acrylic rod offers the same exceptional optical clarity and durability as cast acrylic sheets except in cylindrical form. It’s available in a range of sizes and diameters in both clear and coloured options.

Round and square plastic rods are both lightweight with high impact strength suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

ACRYLIC TUBE

Acrylic tube is available in various diameters, lengths and wall thicknesses, with clear and coloured finishes to suit diverse applications. Easily cut-to-size, acrylic tubing offers versatility in fabrication and display solutions.
